DOWNLOAD

Download CodeBee

Two ways to bring the hive to your machine: install the CLI with npm, or download the desktop preview installer. Free and open source, tasks and data stay local.

How do you download and install CodeBee?

The CLI install takes two steps: npm install -g codebee, then run codebee to open the local workbench in your browser (default http://127.0.0.1:8765). Prefer no terminal? Download the desktop preview instead: Windows gets a 7/8/10/11 installer, macOS pick arm64 (Apple silicon) or x64 (Intel) dmg, with Python bundled in. All installers are published on GitHub Releases.

Installers on GitHub Releases (Vercel-By-WXP/CodeBee); the CLI package on npm (codebee).

INSTALL FAQ

Download and install, answered.

Install methods, launch address, installer choice and common issues — direct answers.

How do I install CodeBee?

Two ways: the CLI — run npm install -g codebee in your terminal, then run codebee to start the local workbench; the desktop preview — download the installer for your system from GitHub Releases and double-click to install, Python bundled in.

Where do I open the workbench after launching?

After running codebee, the local workbench is served at http://127.0.0.1:8765 — open it in your browser. Everything runs locally and task data stays on your machine.

Which installer should I pick on Windows or macOS?

Windows users: the x64 installer (.exe). macOS users: pick by chip — Apple silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4 series) takes arm64 (.dmg), Intel takes x64 (.dmg). Not sure which chip you have? Check "About This Mac" in the Apple menu.

What if the download or install fails?

If installers download slowly or a link breaks, pick a version manually on the GitHub Releases page; for the CLI, install via npm instead. Still stuck? Email support@codebeeagent.com or open a GitHub issue.

How do I update CodeBee to a new version?

For the CLI, run npm update -g codebee in your terminal (or re-run npm install -g codebee) to get the latest version. For the desktop preview, download the new installer from GitHub Releases and install over the old one — task data lives in your local workspace and survives updates.

How do I uninstall CodeBee?

For the CLI, run npm uninstall -g codebee. For the desktop preview, uninstall the usual way via Windows "Apps & features" or the macOS Applications folder. Task records and deliverables in your local workspace stay on your machine; clean them up whenever you like.
